Introduction to the Journal

April 8, 2026, by Joanna Dziekonska

For those who lead from within. For other founders building consciously, not just visibly.

A quiet space away from the outside world, the hustle, and prevailing algorithms that tell us how leadership is supposed to look.

When I first started sharing my work, social media was a natural extension of it. Over time, something shifted, and the pace changed. Visibility, engagement, and appearing a certain way started to be mistaken for credibility.

When did it become a substitute for substance? Or was it always this way, and social networks only amplified it?

There are two sides to it. These platforms can create opportunity. They can also reward what is immediate over what is meaningful.

Some say if you don't exist on these sites, you or your business are nonexistent. So whether we like it or not, we learn to play by these rules...

From my experience, you can build a sustainable business and career without losing yourself in the process. It doesn't come easy, but it's certainly worth it. As with anything, we choose our hard.

This week, as I opened LinkedIn to post (admittedly, LinkedIn and I have had an on-and-off relationship with content), my homepage was full of sponsored posts and how-tos... How to write a perfect hook, when and how often to post for engagement, etc.

I could no longer look at it the way I used to. There are better ways to build.

And I see more often that many of you are also tired of playing, or even looking at the performance we see wherever we log in.

So instead, I spent my time differently and created a space away from algorithms and the content treadmill.

A journal, unhurried and unsponsored, for others interested in leading and building with intention.

Welcome,

Joanna
